How old is my piano?
One of the most accurate ways to determine a piano's age is by its serial number.
On a grand piano, the serial number is typically located on the metal plate. You may have to remove the music desk to see the numbers/letters.
On an upright-type of piano, the serial number is typically located by opening the lid and looking at the top of the plate. Sometimes the number will be located on the rear of the piano.
You may have to look all over the piano if you are unable to locate the serial number easily. Be sure to include all numbers and letters in the proper order when submitting the request to us.
Once submitted, we will email you the age of the piano, typically within 2-3 business days. Sometimes we are unable to locate the age based on lack of records maintained by the individual piano manufacturers. This is rare, but you will be notified if this is the case.
This service is free to our tuning clients, otherwise the cost of this service is $5.00 per serial number. After we have located the age of your piano, we will notify you that we have a successful hit based on the information you have provided and you may then submit the $5.00 payment via the link located on the bottom of the Home page. Once payment is received, you will be e-mailed the results.
